What You Need to Know—And When You Need to Know It


Activating your Chapman Student Account

  • Shortly after receiving your offer of admission, an email is sent from our Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department to the email address listed on your application. It outlines how to activate your Student Account and access to my.chapman.edu. If it has been more than two weeks since your acceptance, please contact the IS&T Service Desk at
    (714) 997-6600 or servicedesk@chapman.edu for this information.
  • You will use this username/password to register online and access your my.chapman.edu student information system. 

Setting up your PantherMail E-mail Account

  • Once you are admitted, all official e-mails from Chapman (including information on your specific registration date and time) will be sent to your Chapman e-mail account.
  • Set up your new e-mail account, using the instructions outlined in the email from our Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department after being granted admission.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for Financial Aid Processing Due
March 2, 2019

The priority deadline for filing the FAFSA is March 2. If the priority deadline is not met you can still apply, but funding for certain aid programs might be exhausted.

Preparing for Registration Email 
Mid-May 2019

This email provides information on summer advising options and course registration. Note: all registration is done online in July, but students must complete academic advising prior to their assigned registration date. Deposited transfer students must complete the online advising tutorial in order to schedule an individual appointment with an academic advisor. Individual appointments can be done over the phone or in person.

Transfer Enrollment Deposit Deadline & Email Activation Deadline
June 1, 2019

Applicable to incoming transfer students to the fall semester. The enrollment deposit and housing reservation payment can be paid in one transaction. You can make the deposits in your Application Status Page. The Office of Admission will continue to accept enrollment deposits after the June 1 deadline on a space-available basis.

Housing Application Deadline
June 1, 2019

You may have seen May 15 as the housing application deadline. May 15 is the deadline for first-year students, not transfers.

Housing applications must be submitted online through the Chapman Housing Portal. Both the application and $500 housing reservation payment must be received to be considered complete and on-time. Housing will continue to accept housing applications after the deadline on a space-available basis.

New Students Summer Welcome Receptions 
June - July 2019 

Incoming students and their families are invited to meet the Chapman Family (including current parents and students, staff and alumni) at receptions all over the country. Academic Advising 
June - July 2019

Transfer students must complete their mandatory academic advising requirement prior to course registration in order to remove their registration hold.

Math Placement Testing 
June - July 2019

Placement testing is completed online for those students who wish to be placed into a higher level math course. Any student who scored below a 570 on the SAT/Math (or 540 for tests prior to March 2016), or below 23 on the ACT/Math, is required to take the Algebra Placement Test.

Foreign Language Placement Testing 
June - July 2019

As part of the General Education program, all Chapman students must complete a course of study in a language other than English. This can be fulfilled by completing a language class at the intermediate or above level (i.e., a language acquisition course at the 201 level, or a higher-level language course taught in a language other than English).

All incoming students will be assigned a specific date and time when they can begin registering for courses. Those dates will be available online in your My.Chapman Student Center in early June, and registration will take place in July.

Housing Assignment Information and Notification Email 
Mid-July 2019

The Housing Assignment Notification email sent to your Chapman email account provides housing information, which includes your housing assignment, roommates' names and contact information, and other helpful information to assist you with your move to the residence community.

Tuition and Fees Payment

AP, IB and Updated Exam Results Due

Orientation for Transfer Students and their families begins

Orientation begins after move-in for transfer students and their families. All new students are expected to attend orientation. The program familiarizes incoming students with the academic and social aspects of Chapman University.
