At Chapman, all students must meet the Introductory Mathematics Requirement. To do this, you must either take or waive one of the following two math classes:
- MATH 100: Learning and Studying Mathematics for Understanding I (algebra). This class and its lab, MATH 100L, are required for all undergraduate students not in a STEM program.
- MATH 101: Learning and Studying Mathematics for Understanding II (calculus readiness). This class and its lab, MATH 101L, are required for undergraduate students in a STEM program.
Your area of study, specifically whether you are majoring in a STEM (science, technology engineering, math) program, determines which of these classes you must take or waive.
