zamaupin@chapman.eduDr. Zack Maupin is an assistant professor in the Counseling & School Psychology program at the Attallah College of Educational Studies. He received his Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in school psychology from Chapman University and received his previous training through Azusa Pacific University in Southern California. Throughout his training, Zack spent seven years working in Los Angeles County as a school psychologist and educationally related mental health specialist. During this time, he managed a caseload of assessments and counseling, while simultaneously innovating programs and protocols tailored to the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students. With a strong foundation in both academia and hands-on practice, Zack brings a wealth of experience to his teaching and research endeavors.

An underlying focus of Zack’s research involves understanding and supporting students’ unique mental health needs, enhancing school climate, and training competent practitioners. His projects regarding school attendance problems, evidence-based assessment practices, and transition services have contributed significantly to the body of literature in school psychology and adjacent fields.
