<p>In 2017, Lysak was named to Crain’s NewsPro annual national list of Notable Journalism Educators.  She is a Fulbright Specialist 2018-2021 and has worked as a news management consultant in emerging democracies. </p>
<p>Lysak was an associate professor of broadcast journalism at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications from 2009-2019.  At Syracuse, she received the Meredith Teaching Recognition Award.   She also previously taught at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va. and as an adjunct at the University of Southern California.</p>
<p>In 2007, Lysak won two Los Angeles area Emmy Awards as a KCBS-TV morning news senior producer, coordinating coverage of wildfires.  Earlier in her career, she won an American Women in Radio &amp; Television national award for her reporting of a series titled “Private Battles:  Women in the Military.”</p>
<p>Lysak is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).  Her research interests include how journalists use social media, and how constantly-evolving technology effects the delivery and impact of journalism.  </p></bio-overwrite><scholarly-works-overwrite/><cv/><media-contact>pr@chapman.edu</media-contact><lecture-requests>lysak@chapman.edu</lecture-requests><phone/><website/></item>
