Biography

Mr. Budensiek heads up the employment law counseling practice of Klatte, Budensiek & Young-Agriesti, LLP, focusing on the practice of “preventive employment law.” Previously selected by the Daily Journal as one of California's Top 75 employment law attorneys, Mr. Budensiek works closely with California employers of all sizes, from start-ups to international corporations, becoming an integral part of his clients’ human resources organization and a trusted advisor to company owners and senior managers. 

Mr. Budensiek has played an instrumental role in developing employment policies and practices designed to comply with California’s demanding and complex employment laws, especially emphasizing work with companies headquartered outside of California to conform employment policies to California compliance requirements. Mr. Budensiek represents employers in employment-related investigations or hearings before state and federal administrative agencies. Mr. Budensiek earned his undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management with high distinction from the University of Iowa. In 1991, Stanford Law School awarded him a law degree with distinction while he was serving on active duty as a U.S. Naval officer. After law school graduation, Mr. Budensiek continued to serve as an officer in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps, both on active duty and later as a reservist, until retiring from the Navy in 2006.
