We offer scholarship awards for first-year and transfer students ranging from $3,000 up to meeting full needs for select recipients. For this reason, we encourage all interested students to apply.

Scholarships for first-year students can be renewed for the four years you will be at Chapman. Scholarship renewal requirements will be listed in your award letter.

Fowler Engineering Scholarships

Fowler Engineering Scholarships are awarded to students in a variety of categories. We have merit scholarships for students with exemplary academic track records; need-based scholarships for students with demonstrated financial need; and our Human Centered Engineering scholarships for students from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in STEM.

Please note that:

  • Fowler Engineer Scholarships are available to incoming first-year and transfer students.
  • In addition to awards that cover tuition and fees, limited funding may be available for room and board.
  • To demonstrate financial need, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Limited funding is available for both first-year and transfer Undocumented/AB540 and international students.

Industry Scholarships

Industry Scholarships support students whose interests are in certain disciplines. For example, this year we are launching our $10,000/year HireRight Scholars program for students interested in the field of Data Science. Additionally, industry-sponsored scholarships may include an internship with one of our partners and/or a Grand Challenges Initiative project that aligns with a partner’s mission. Some industries represented include:

  • Aerospace
  • Biomedical implants
  • Business/data analytics
  • Medical devices
  • Semiconductor manufacturing
  • Software development

Gene Haas Scholarship

The Fowler School of Engineering is fortunate to have received the Gene Haas Scholarship to award students with tuition, books, supplies, and tools. The primary goal of the Gene Haas Foundation is to build and promote skills in the machining industry by providing scholarships to students who focus on CNC machining technology.

Multiple awards were granted for the spring of the current academic year and ranged from $500 to $2500 per student.

Masimo and Human Centered Engineering Scholarships
Making people's lives better is what medical technology is all about. That's why Masimo Scholarship recipients like Eric Chier are giving back and using their research to enrich the lives of others.

Laptop Assistance Program

Since a computer will be essential to help you complete your coursework, we created the Laptop Assistance Program. Through the program, students can apply to receive a new laptop to use throughout their time as Chapman Engineering students.

The Laptop Assistance Program application will be sent to all admitted engineering students. Preference will be given to those with a demonstrated need.

Support Fowler School of Engineering Students

The faculty, staff, and students of the Fowler School of Engineering work together to support student achievement within a complex and rapidly evolving global technology landscape. We strongly believe that transformative ideas in the face of such complexity can only arise from a broad set of contexts, perspectives, ideas, experiences, and viewpoints.

To ensure that we are identifying and attracting the broadest possible cohort of outstanding, ambitious students regardless of their economic circumstances, we work diligently to secure a range of tailored engineering scholarships.
