Fowler School of Engineering

» About The Fowler School of Engineering

Launching in the fall of 2019, the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler School of Engineering will produce students who are problem solvers equipped with the technical skills and knowledge needed to create innovations that address the world’s most complex challenges.

We believe in an entrepreneurial and progressive approach to education that acknowledges students as builders and makers from day one. In our immersive, project-based curriculum focused on real-world problems, we will give students a strong foundation of computer science, data analytics and computer engineering.

Our cutting edge facilities will house a vibrant and supportive community who will enjoy unparalleled access to faculty and a commitment to giving students opportunities in research and career opportunities. Because we are part of the thriving location of Southern California, a region defined by diversity of thought, we want our students to work on real projects, using real data with real implications.

As the School launches, we will strengthen and expand the computer science, data analytics and software engineering programs formerly housed in Schmid College, along with Chapman’s innovative Grand Challenges Initiative. This foundation will allow for expansion into bachelor’s programs in computer engineering and electrical engineering, as well as a master’s degree in electrical engineering/computer science. Infusing hands-on experiences informed by industry standard software and hardware tools, we’ll create an agile, dynamic and immersive educational experience that will breed a new generation of students.
