» Career Advising

Chapman University boasts a unique career services model where students have access to the Office of Career and Professional Development and industry-specific career guidance for each individual school and college.

The College of Performing Arts is served by our dedicated, in-house Career Advisor. The CoPA Career Advisor is available to meet with all CoPA students and alumni, as well as students and alumni from other programs who are interested in career paths in the performing arts and live entertainment. The CoPA Career Advisor also delivers career support through workshops, classroom presentations, and event programming tailored to support the unique needs of performing arts majors.

In addition to directly supporting students and alumni, the CoPA Career Advisor also works closely with our faculty to support career initiatives within the classroom, and our campus and community partners to facilitate industry connections.

What is career advising?

Career advising is a co-curricular resource designed to supplement the world-class artistic training CoPA students get in the classroom. Performing arts careers look different than in other industries, so performing arts students need to develop different career skillsets. CoPA graduates who bring their creativity to other industries need to articulate the value of their skills in new settings. Career advising equips you with the tools you need to feel confident navigating your career, no matter what stage you’re at or where your career path takes you.
