The 2016 Choral Music Camp (June 20 - 24, 2016) featured students from over 20 SoCal high schools, including Aliso Niguel, Arlington, Canyon, Dana Hills, Esperanza, Foothill, Irvine, Laguna Hills, Mater Dei, Murietta, Orange County School of the Arts, Orange, Rosary, San Juan Hills, Santa Margarita, St. Margaret’s, Tesoro, Valencia, Westminster, and Yorba Linda, as well as Mohave (AZ) and Vista Ridge (TX)!
Since its inception in 2011, Chapman University's Choral Music Camp has connected high school choral students with our outstanding Choral Camp faculty and student instructors. The 2016 camp was led by faculty Keith Hancock and Stephen Coker, and included Mixed Choir, Women’s Choir and Men’s Choir as well as small ensembles in which students explore making music with new friends.
Campers also have an opportunity to participate in various elective classes throughout the week — past examples include Sight Singing, Voice Class, Music Technology, Percussion Class, Audition Preparation, and Acting for Singers. The week concludes with an evening concert by all campers, performed in the beautiful new Musco Center for the Arts on the Chapman University campus.
Regular tuition is $395 (Early Bird pricing available) and includes the week-long day camp, cafeteria plan (five lunches and dinners at on-campus cafeteria), choral music packet and camp T-shirt.
