Our mission is to provide independent information on significant topics related to disability and facilitate action in areas that require community change. Throughout each year, the TPI will produce research that results in recommendations to decision-makers at the local, state and eventually national levels. The aim is to educate stakeholders on these topics towards improving the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities and their families.
With a commitment to free and open inquiry, the Institute takes an interdisciplinary approach to research that draws from local, national, and international sources. We will use a range of experimental and theoretical approaches; qualitative and quantitative methods. Our work transforms the way we understand the world of disability and policy, advancing areas of study, and often creating new areas of inquiry.
