Instructions for joining live online events

Live online events are hosted using Microsoft Teams. Below, you will find directions for joining an event using a Mac, PC, or Mobile Devices.

Mac and PC Instructions

Instructions for joining (Mac or PC):

1. Open the event drop-down and and click the link to join the meeting.

2. Choose the “Watch on the web instead” button. Alternatively, you may download or open in Teams if you already have the application installed, or if you only have the Safari browser.

3. Click “Join anonymously”.

4. You may see “The live event hasn't’t started”. The event will automatically begin at the scheduled start time.

Mobile Device Instructions

Instructions for mobile devices (Apple, Android):

1. Open the event drop-down and and click the link to join the meeting.

2. If you do not have the Microsoft Teams application, click the Apple or Google store link on your device to download and install the application on your device.

3. Once installed, go back to the previous page, or click the event link below.

  1. Choose the Open it.

5. Enter your name and click Enter.

Chapman Town Hall Live Event – March 26th - 12:00 PM PDT

President Daniele Struppa, Vice Provost Lawrence Brown, and Dean of Students/Vice President of Student Affairs Jerry Price will host a town hall on Microsoft Teams at 12 p.m. PDT on Thursday, March 26 to update the Chapman Family and address questions and concerns you may have regarding the University's Coronavirus response.

You may join the event from a computer or mobile device.  Mobile devices require an application download.

COVID-19 Research Town Hall – March 26th - 2:00 PM PDT

Chapman University’s Vice President for Research, Thomas Piechota, hosts an online event featuring several Chapman faculty already working on COVID-19-related research and outreach. A Q&A follows each brief presentation, moderated by Tom Piechota.

Ask the Experts – COVID-19 Town Hall - April 7 at 2:00PM PDT

Ask the Experts – COVID-19 Town Hall will be moderated by Vice President Thomas Piechota and will include:

  • Dr. Michael Burney and Stephanie Saldivar (Physician Assistant Program) – working on the front lines of caring for COVID-19 patients
  • Dr. Peter Simi (Department of Sociology) – hate crimes/incidents and hate groups related to COVID-19
  • Claudine Jaenichen (Department of Art) – effectiveness of information and visual communication distributed to the public on COVID-19.

A Q&A session will be held at the end of the town hall.
