The currency of meetings and networking events

If you are in transition... it is absolutely critical that you have networking cards to use during your job search.

Even if you are not actively seeking new employment... it is always a good idea to have networking cards on-hand that reflect your personal brand beyond your current employer.

Your personal business or networking card should...

... be a reflection of your personal brand and compliment the style of your resume and cover letter. Since everyone's personal brand and professional goals are unique, no one's individual business/networking cards should be alike.

In addition to acting as a key element of your branded career toolkit, every business card should:

  • Have room for a note
  • Clearly share your contact information (personal phone, personal professional email and online profiles)
  • Speak for itself - Recipients of your card should be able to take it home, pick it up days or weeks later, and recall who you where, what you do, your professional goals, and how you can be an asset to them
