Sadie's bio

Born and raised in Brea, CA, Sadie graduated from Chapman University with a B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising. As a first-generation college student, she knew nothing of the college admission process and serendipitously found her new home at Chapman.

She immediately immersed herself in the Chapman experience by serving as an orientation leader, cheerleader, and tour guide in the Office of Admission.

After graduation she worked at Gamma Phi Beta International Headquarters as a Collegiate Leadership Consultant. She traveled to colleges across the country to help students develop recruitment practices, presentation styles and leadership skills.

Upon her return to Orange County she rejoined the Chapman community as an Admission Counselor and is happy to share her experience as a Panther with future members of the Chapman family.

When she isn’t reading applications, Sadie enjoys spending time with her cat and finding new podcasts to obsess over.

Advice from Sadie

Envision yourself at CU! There are so many opportunities to be involved on campus and engaged in your community at Chapman University. From the moment you take your first Chapman tour I hope you are able to find something you love about this university and your future here. Be sure to tell me what you find that is right for you in your application!

Favorite spot on campus

The Ernie Chapman Stadium always brings back great memories of cheering on the 2014 SCIAC Championship football team and Playfair (a great activity that helps the entire first year class get to know each other during Orientation). The stadium seats spell “CHAPMAN!” and I once saw them from a plane!

Best admission memory

As an alumna I came back for Homecoming weekend and met a first year student that had a mutual friend with me. The minute she saw me she shouted “You were my tour guide! I decided to apply to Chapman and the Public Relations and Advertising degree because you were so passionate about it.” This young woman also ended up joining my sorority and she credited her first experience at Chapman to me. Hearing how excited and happy she was with her decision made my day! That moment was huge and so humbling.

Best Chapman memory

Choosing one is hard but... my senior year I took an interterm travel course to the Galapagos Islands with two amazing professors and 13 fellow Chapman students that I had never met. I had the most amazing time living on a boat, exploring the islands, snorkeling every day and bonding with classmates I may have never connected with had I not gone. The entire trip encompassed the mission of Chapman University, especially the personalized education and global citizenship aspect. The time I spent studying in the Galapagos is a true Chapman experience I will never forget.
