In courses that examine diverse religious traditions from the history of Christianity to the religions of India and the Far East, in courses that probe the meaning of sacred texts from the Old and New Testaments to the Bhagavad Gita, and in courses that encourage students to reflect on ethics and values from studies in the Holocaust to religion and values, students are challenged to expand their intellectual and spiritual horizons and to reflect upon their values and beliefs. In travel courses such as the summer courses in Egypt, Greece, and Turkey, students gain a direct sense of how religious traditions have shaped the past and continue to influence our present and future.
Each year the Religious Studies faculty chooses a student or students for their “Outstanding Student(s) in Religion” Award.
