| Come join us at Cha Guaner, Tea House, Chapman's first Chinese Culture Club! It is a place for you to speak the language and enjoy the charms of the culture in an entertaining and relaxing way.
The hostesses of Cha Guaner are Ms. Qi Lu, Fulbright scholar from China and Dr. Catherine Li, author of The Flight of the Wild Crane.
Whether you want to improve your language skills, learn more about China today, or just make new friends, this is an opportunity you can't miss.

Club Advisor: Catherine Li Welcome to the Chinese Culture Club! The Chinese Culture Club is here to give you a better appreciation and understanding of China even without having to speak Chinese! Activities included are movie nights, dinner gatherings, festival celebrations, and guest speakers. The Chinese Club is a place where you can inspire and share your love for China with good friends.
Fulbright Scholar On Sep 16, 2009, at the Panther Pad, Qin Zhang Laoshi, Fulbright scholar from China, gave a presentation about her hometown, Wuhan. She briefly introduced the population, climate, history, scenery, food and dialect of Wuhan, which made Chinese culture more real and accessible to students.
Chinese Movies Welcome to our Chinese movie night! Blockbuster Chinese movies are shown once a month with English subtitles.

Chinese Radio Program
Don¡'t miss the Chinese Radio Program —"China Rock" every Wednesday from 5 to 6 pm on http://www.chapmanradio.com/chinarocks.php! "China Rock" is a radio program about Chinese rock music that effectively portrays the spirit of the Chinese people. DJs Lauren and Fox play original Chinese rock'n'roll music, share interesting stories about the modern lives of the Chinese, and host special guests from all walks of life. Future special guests include Chinese scholars, professors, novelists, and internationally acclaimed Chinese celebrities.
Mid-autumn Celebration On Oct 5, 2009, the students in Chinese 101 and 201 celebrated the Mid Autumn Festival respectively. The 101 students had a breakfast meeting while the 201 students had a hot-pot lunch at the Panther Pad. They not only tasted the typical Chinese food but also experienced the unique Chinese culture.
International Food Fair On October 22, at the Argyros Global Citizen's Plaza, the Chinese Culture Club participated in the 27th International Food Fair, and provided delicious Cantonese food to the Chapman community. The food was indeed well received.


Tutorial System The Chinese program has set up an effective tutorial system to help students to learn the Chinese language. The four tutors, being native speakers, are from various departments and schools on campus. They are from the business and film schools. Some are undergraduate students while others are graduate students. They provide one-to-one personal help to the students in need.

Each school year, APSA have two major events that we put on, So Fresh and API. So Fresh is a hip hop, fashion showcase that funds getting children out of children trafficking in Asia. And, API (Asian Pacific Islander Celebration) is a fund raising event we host that benefits a different local organization in the area each year. Be a part of our amazing organization in promoting diversity at our campus and taking a step towards acceptance of all ethnicities.
