One of the largest departments at Chapman University, English has around 210 undergraduate majors and 80 graduate students. Courses are offered on a wide variety of subjects, including British, American, and Comparative Literatures, Creative Writing, Linguistics, Journalism, Critical Practice and Theory, and Pedagogy. Faculty also teach Freshman Foundation, First-Year Writing and General Education courses.
