Facts about Chapman UniversityLocated on a beautiful tree-lined 75-acre campus, Chapman University is 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles, 10 miles from the ocean and just minutes away from Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Angel Stadium and Honda Center (home of the Anaheim Ducks). Chapman University is an independent institution of liberal arts and professional training. The university offers more than 40 fields of undergraduate study as well as graduate degree programs and credential programs for educators. Chapman traces its roots to Hesperian College and California Christian College in Los Angeles. In 1934, the institution was renamed for its most generous benefactor, C.C. Chapman. The college moved to the city of Orange in 1954 and in 1991 became Chapman University. The student body on the Orange campus is approximately 5,800 undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, more than 6,000 students are enrolled through 16 remote campuses. With 264 full-time faculty and 317 part-time instructors, Chapman University enjoys a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio.
