Application and Assignment Process
for Graduate & Law Students

Any Graduate or Law Students wishing to express interest in on-campus housing must first complete a Waitlist Application Form. Both the University Houses and Glassell Apartments have their own Waitlist Application Forms which are both available on our forms page under the "Forms for Graduate Students" heading. The submission of a Waitlist Application Form will keep the applicant on the waitlist for either living area until they are either offered a property to rent or they notify the Office of Housing and Residence Life that they wish to be removed from the waitlist.

When a property becomes available for rent, a staff member from the Office of Housing and Residence Life will contact individuals on the waitlist in order of priority for that given living area (see priority listings below). Applicants may set up a walkthrough with the Office of Housing and Residence Life to view any properties that are available. If the applicant wishes to proceed in the renting of a property after viewing it, they must then complete a more detailed application form and credit check release. The property will then be placed on hold for that applicant pending the receipt of a credit report and the approval of the Office of Housing and Residence Life.

Please note that at the point of initial contact, the assignment of housing is on a "first come, first served" basis. For example, a group of applicants will be contacted on the same day and the first applicant that complete the necessary paperwork first will be given the property for rent.

Once an applicant is approved as a potential renter, their application will be passed to the Assistant Director in charge of the University Houses or the Resident Director who supervises the Glassell Apartments depending on the location of the property. These individuals will establish your check-in date and time and answer any additional questions for the applicant in regards to the specific property being rented.
