Meet the Resident Directors & Resident AdvisorsResident Directors (RDs) are full-time professional staff who live in the residence halls and the apartment communities with their families. They are all specifically trained in all aspects of Residence Life including counseling, conflict mediation, programming, and conduct adjudication. All RDs have compleded or are in the process of completing their post secondary degrees. Resident Directors are responsible for the administration of a living area housing 300-400 students, and the supervision of 8-10 Resident Advisors. Additional responsibilities include: planning and facilitating educational programs, administering conduct procedures, advising community council, coordinating social programming efforts, advising hall desk operations, counseling students, and responding to emergency situations. Resident Advisors (RAs) are full-time undergraduate students who live in the residence halls and the apartment communities. They have been selected by the Office of Housing & Residence Life to help make living in the residence halls a positive experience. One of their primary roles is developing a sense of community among the residents who live in each area. RAs have extensive training and are available to assist with questions, problems, or emergencies. They are also responsible for communicating and enforcing the policies of Residence Life and Chapman University. RAs are involved with organizing educational, cultural, recreational, and social programs. |
