Action in Africa
Our efforts are concentrated in Africa, and more specifically in the small, impoverished country of Uganda. Our goal is to increase awareness of Africa’s struggle, as well as to raise money to support their needs. We sponsor children in schools to provide them with an education, and we provide funding and labor for school and community projects.
 
Active Minds
Active Minds is a national organization that develops and supports student-run mental health awareness, education, and advocacy groups on the college campus. Student run mental health organization focused on changing the conversation about mental health.
 
American Sign Language Club
This club serves the purpose of benefiting and creating communication in American Sign Language. You don't have to be fluent in ASL or have any type of previous knowledge to join! Whether you're just starting out, or you've been practicing ASL for years, you are welcome to become a member!
 
Animal Rights Advocates (CARA)
Our mission is to promote the eradication of animal exploitation, to promote animal liberation, to foster a perspective of life that is free of speciesism, to provide assistance, guidance, and information to anyone interested in making the switch a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle, to promote activism through peaceful, multifaceted, vegan education, and to serve as advocates on the behalf of animals.
 
Asian Pacific Student Association (APSA)
APSA is an organization whose purpose is to promote cultural diversity and cultural awareness, on campus and throughout the community. We are affiliated with APEX which stands for Asian Professional Exchange.
 
Biracial & Multiracial Discussion Group (BAM)
Biracial and multiracial discussion group is a confidential discussion group for biracial and multiracial students sponsored by Student & Campus Life.
 
Black Student Union (BSU) 
The purpose of the Black Student Union shall be to empower the Black community at Chapman University by giving fundamental support, resources, information and by providing a connection to the other communities on campus.
 
Campus Kiva
The group focuses on spreading awareness about microloans and Kiva. Kiva is world's first person to person micro lending website. CU Campus Kiva will organize multiple events to raise awareness about global poverty as well as the benefits of micro lending.
 
Chapman Feminists 
We are an organization with a passion for social justice and equality! Anyone who believes everyone deserves equal rights regardless of sex, gender, age, sexuality, race, color, disability, religion etc. is a feminist, and we want to set out to prove feminism is a relevant, important movement through events, discussion panels, screenings, and community outreach.
 
Chapman International Studies Student Association (CISSA)
CISSA is committed to facilitating networking between professionals, professors, and students who share an interest in International Studies.
 
Circle K (CKI)
Circle K International (CKI) is the largest collegiate community service, leadership development and friendship organization in the world. CKI blends community service and leadership training with the opportunity to meet other college students around the world.
 
Colleges Against Cancer
American Cancer Society Colleges Against Cancer is a nationwide collaboration of college students, faculty, and staff dedicated to eliminating cancer by initiating and supporting programs of the American Cancer Society in college communities.
 
Creating a Rape-free Environment for Students (CARES)
The primary focus of CARES is to educate people regarding the many issues and concerns surrounding incidents of sexual assault, including rape. The core commitment of CARES is to serve the needs, empower and protect the rights of all members of our community by advocating respect, responsibility and human dignity.
 
Disability Alliance of Chapman (DAC)
The purpose or mission of the Chapman Disability Alliance is to create a community for students with disabilities and their allies to address education, advocacy, outreach, and mentoring as they relate to issues of disability on Chapman’s campus.
 
Fashion for Charity
The mission of Fashion for Charity is to raise money and awareness for different charities and global issues through fashion. Through the sales of merchandise (t-shirts, bracelets, tote bags, etc.) we plan to donate the proceeds to the sponsored charities.
 
French Club
The French Club provides students the opportunity to participate in a wide range of French cultural events and activities outside of the classroom. It is a conversation and social club for all levels of French.
 
Global Law Brigades (GLB)
GLB is a secular, international volunteer network of students and law professionals who collaborate with local partner organizations serving at-risk communities to improve quality of life by implementing legal empowerment, human rights, environmental protection, and business law strategies for community development.
 
Global Medical Brigades
Global Medical Brigades is a secular, international network of university clubs and volunteer organizations that travel to developing countries to perform health care in communities without access to medicine otherwise.
 
Global Public Health Brigades
PHB is an international network of students and professionals that volunteer to develop and attain sustainable public health solutions that strengthen communities in the developing world.
 
Global Water Brigades
Global Water Brigades is a non-profit organization that travels down to Honduras to implement and design water systems within undeserved communities.
 
G.O.A.T. Society
The society is a dedicated to learning about and celebrating the diversity of religions at Chapman University and in the world. The society is a non-devotional and non-denominational group dedicated to creating a community of students, professors, and faculty members who are willing to support one another in intellectual and spiritual exploration.
 
Healthy Environments and Living Spaces (HEALS)
Healthy Environments and Living Spaces (HEALS) aims to provide an open group for students interested in our environment. HEALS members will be committed to engaging in service activities including restoration projects, beach clean-ups, nature appreciation activities, and other environmental trips that might be beneficial.
International Student Organization (ISO)
This is a group that brings Chapman students together to share cultural and recreational activities and encourage students to connect and build community.
 
Invisible Children
Invisible Children, a non-profit organization, works to provide a safe learning environment for children in Northern Uganda, by raising money, and spreading awareness.
 

 

Diversity & Equity Groups & Clubs

Italian Club
The Italian club is for anyone and everyone who has an interest in the language, culture, and cuisine of Italy. There is so much to learn outside of books and classrooms! We do our best to incorporate the Italian way of life into the world of Chapman.
 
Japanese Club
The Chapman University Japanese Club is a group for those interested in learning more about Japanese language and culture. Our primary goals are to add an extracurricular and social component to students in the Japanese department as well as make the culture and language available to the greater student body.
 
Korean Student Association-Liberty in North Korea (KSA-LiNK)
LiNK exists so that one day the crisis in North Korea will not. We operate under a mandate that does not allow us to remain silent about the human rights and refugee crisis that is a result of this emergency. We educate, protect, advocate, provide and empower the North Korean people so that one day they will have the opportunity to live in true freedom.
  
Microfinance Brigades
Microfinance Brigades provides poverty-stricken communities in the developing world with the educational, financial, and organizational resources necessary to sustainably drive their own economic development. The purpose of this organization is to establish a community of economically aware students on campus who will be given the opportunity to explore the financial side of the business field.
 
Movimiento Estudantil Chicano de Aztlan (M.E.Ch.A.)
A student organization that promotes higher education, cultura, and historia. MEChA was founded on the principles of self-determination for the liberation of our people. We believe that political involvement and education are the avenues for change in our society.
 
Operation Smile Club
Operation Smile Club’s goals include spreading awareness on cleft lips, cleft palates, burns, and facial deformities as well as spreading awareness on Operation Smile.
 
Peer Mentor Program
The Peer Mentor Program is designed to help new students make connections with the campus community and begin to establish a sense of belonging at Chapman University. Peer Mentors are successful and experienced student volunteers who are dedicated to supporting first year and transfer students’ transition into college.
 
Promising Futures/Thurgood Marshal Scholars (TMGS)
Thurgood Marshall Scholars is comprised of undergraduate students that are awarded a financial aid grant based on their demonstrated need, first generation college student status, and other factors determined by the University. This is designated when a student is admitted to Chapman University.
 
Pua 'ikeana (Hawai'i Club)
One of the Pua 'ikeana's core purposes is to strengthen and support the community of students at Chapman University who are originally from Hawai'i. Pua 'ikeana does its very best to provide a family atmosphere for those students, and other students who are interested in Hawai'ian culture.
 
Queer People of Color (QPOC)
Students, faculty and staff at Chapman University who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer people of color are invited to contribute, learn and lead in informal gatherings and conversations. Sponsored by the Safe Space Program.
 
Queer Straight Alliance (QSA) 
QSA provides a safe haven for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, and queer (LGBTQ) students and faculty members as well as their allies. The purpose of QSA is to raise awareness of LGBTQ in an educational environment.
 
Racial Activists for Common Equity (RACE)
R.A.C.E. is a student run group on campus for students to discuss and take action on the issues of race, racism, and privilege. We help to raise awareness around issues of racism.
 
Rio Azul
Rio Azul is a shanty community in Costa Rica that is in desperate need of help with everything from a hug for the children to infrastructure in the community. Rio Azul is an organization that through Chapman, and with your help, will be able to meet small goals that graduate into larger successes.
 
Safe Space Committees & Program
Safe Space is an educational intervention to promote a safer and more welcoming campus climate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex and ally members of our community here at Chapman. ponsored by Student & Campus Life and the Dean of Students & Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
 
Set Captives Free
Set Captives Free educates the Chapman and surrounding community about the issue of human trafficking. Members will be active in promoting awareness through events planned and in volunteering with organizations that help victims of human trafficking.
 
Sisterhood Circle for Women of Color
A dialogue circle for those who identify as women of color to seek a space for voice, community and support. Sponsored by Student & Campus Life.
 
Spanish Club
The purpose of this club is to provide opportunities for students to speak Spanish while increasing their knowledge of the Spanish speaking world.
 
Social Justice Council
The Council is made up of interested students and representatives of multicultural, social justice, service, language and sustainability clubs. Anyone is welcome to attend and be a part of the council whether or not you represent another organization. If you're passionate about social change and social justice, this is the place for you! Sponsored by Student & Campus Life.
 
Stonewall Discussion Group for LGBTQI Students
Stonewall is a confidential and supportive discussion group specifically for members of the LGBTQI community and those who are questioning their sexual identity. Sponsored by the Safe Space Program.
 
Student Government Association
The Student Government Association (SGA) advocates for students' needs and dedicates itself to being the representative voice of the student body.
 
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE)
SIFE is an international organization that brings together a diverse network of university students, academic professionals and industry leaders who share the vision of creating a better, more sustainable world through the positive power of business.
 
Student Veterans of Chapman University (Vet’s Club)
The Student Veterans of Chapman's goal will be to advocate on behalf of veterans issues at Chapman University and beyond. Our purpose is to provide a fellowship of like-minded individuals in order to create a network of student veterans to provide and enhance professional and leadership development.
 
Ubuntu Community Dialogue Circle
A community dialogue circle discussing diversity, equity, social justice, global issues and the way we see the world as individuals and as a community. Open to everyone. Meets for 6 weeks in the fall semester.
 
University Program Board
The University Program Board strives to enhance the overall experience at Chapman University by actively engaging the students with entertaining, educational and diverse programs throughout the academic year. The board encourages participation and input while challenging itself to integrate the varied needs of the Chapman community.
