The Tunnel of Oppression in 2010 focused on oppressive language, gender oppression, heterosexism, sizism and ableism. The event is sponsored by Housing & Residence Life, Student & Campus Life, Greek Life, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs & Dean of Students, Associated Students and Members of C.A.S.T. A total of 590 campus and community members walked through the 2010 Tunnel of Oppression here at Chapman - Tunnel 2011 promises to make an even greater impact on the Chapman and broader Orange community. Please join us in walking through the Tunnel this year, and spread the word! The first Chapman Tunnel of Oppression happened between March 24-27, 2009 and was a collaboration between Associated Students, Housing & Residence Life, Members of CAST, the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs & the Department of Student & Campus Life. The Tunnel of Oppression in Spring 2009 focused on human rights, hate crimes, environmental justice and institutional racism. The Tunnel of Oppression Planning Committee will meet regularly in Fall 2011 - Spring 2012. Volunteers, actors and planning committee members are welcome to join!
