Watershed Management Program
The Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance and Schmid College of Science has partnered with Miocean and Coastkeeper to offer a multi-faceted program on watershed management. Offered twice previously to rave reviews, the 6 week management program featured sessions led by top environmental scientists and policy experts from Chapman University, water board representatives, environmental engineers, and county, city, and community representatives. The program was intended for the local water resources community, developers, consultants, lawyers, civil servants, and everyone interested in the current and future state of the Southland's water resources.
The program began with an overview of California's watershed issues and proceeded to an examination of the science of watersheds, policy and political issues, the regulatory environment, and implications for land development. The program concluded with an included luncheon and offsite field trip. Sessions were held on Chapman's beautiful campus in Orange with refreshments provided.

Personal Finance Seminar
Hoag Center for Real Estate and Finance offered a 3 week Personal Finance seminar for anyone interested in organizing their financial affairs, achieving financial objectives, and securing a sound financial future. Topics included: Setting Financial Goals, Developing a Budget and Sticking to it, Preventing Identity Theft, Paying Down Credit Card Debt, Understanding your Credit Report and Score, Saving for Retirement, Estate Planning, and more. Course material will be presented through lecture, activities, take home assignments and multi-media tools.
The program was jointly offered by Hoag Center and Office of Human Resources.
Bloomberg Seminar
The Hoag Center hosted a representative from Bloomberg to give a demonstration of the Bloomberg Terminal. This is a powerful tool used by virtually all financial institutions, financial analysts, and portfolio managers. If you plan to work in the financial industry, skills with the Bloomberg terminal are a must. This seminar is usually held once a semester in Beckman Hall.
