Tabula Poetica Director Anna Leahy was commissioned to write a poem to commemorate Chapman University's 150th Anniversary. She read "To find, to make, to create" as part of a ceremony on March 4, 2011. The poem was published in Chapman Magazine and is available online. Check it out!

Since 2010, Tabula Poetica has provided judging for the California Coastal Commission Poetry Contest for K-12. This past February, Graduate Assistant Natalie d'Auvergne coordinated our participation. She and Chapman University undergraduates Lauren Benke, Keefe Dempsey, Sara Hunt, and Alexa Pukall chose finalists in four categories. Click here for more information.

On March 14, 2011, poet Lynn Emanuel read from her book Noose and Hook and discussed with students the state of American poetry and how she composes poems.

In April, Tabula Poetica hosted Poetry Week 2011. Events included the International Poetry Reading (Department of Languages), a Poetry Slam (Gender & Women's Studies, Chapman Feminists, Gay-Straight Alliance), the Celebration of St. Lucia, and much more.

We post additional news, including links to publications by Tabula Poetica poets past and future, on the Tabula Poetica: Poetry at Chapman University on Facebook.
