Since its inception in 2000 the Phyllis & Ross Escalette Permanent Collection of Art has gained tremendous momentum thanks to the contributions of collectors, artists and philanthropists. In 2003, an inaugural brochure was published to reflect the scope of the collection and promote its appreciation beyond the physical boundaries of Chapman to the surrounding community. Few universities have permanent art collections and Chapman's is becoming the premier such university collection in Orange County.
