Alex Slade is a LosAngeles-based artist working in both the medium of photography and sculpture.  Recent installations have included both mediums as a way of commenting on their differing relationships to the representation of space in landscape and architecture.  He has had recent solo exhibitions at Mary Goldman Gallery in LA, Els Hanappe Underground in Athens, and Westwerk in Hambrg. His work was included in Prague's 2003 Biennial and "Snapshot: New Art in Los Angeles" an exhibition organized at UCLA's Hammer Museum which traveled to MOCA Miami.  A large installation was included in "Topographies" at the San Francisco Art Institute's Walter McBean Gallery March 2004 and an exhibitgion of his Vacant Lot photographs were exhibited at the Santa Monica Museum in June of 2004.
