PEER stands for Proactive Education Encouraging Responsibility.

This department provides students with information regarding:

  • Alcohol and substance abuse
  • Sexual assault prevention
  • Communication and life skills
  • Conflict resolution
  • STDs (including HIV/AIDS)
  • Stress reduction
  • Time management
  • Eating disorders
  • Assertiveness

Chapman's PEER and Health Education department also provides students with opportunities to explore how these life issues impact a person's ability to succeed in our society. Wise decision-making, responsibility, and awareness of consequences are key components of these programs.

Students are also encouraged to receive training to provide services to fellow students in the area of rape and sexual assault prevention by becoming a part of the Creating a Rape-Free Environment for Students (C.A.R.E.S.) group.
