Biography

Soprano Victoria (Vicki) Muto has a Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA), in Vocal Performance from the Flora L. Thornton School of Music on the campus of the University of Southern California (USC) where she also performed leading roles with the USC Opera.  She was an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Vocal Arts Department at USC from 2000 to 2013 and holds the same position at El Camino College (ECC) in Torrance, California (where she also directs an up and coming Opera Workshop) and at World Mission University in Los Angles.  Her students have placed and won competitions in Southern California, been given scholarship awards to various conservatories of music and have landed professional singing engagements in Europe.  Dr. Muto, herself, has received several vocal awards and has placed in vocal competitions such as the McAllister Awards, the Baltimore Opera Vocal competition, New York City’s prestigious Liederkranz Competition and the Metropolitan Opera auditions.  For ten years Victoria performed numerous, professional, leading operatic roles for, and was a resident artist with, AGMA member opera house - Tri-Cities Opera Company (TCO) in upstate New York.  Victoria has sung opposite Musical Theater star, Richard White (the voice of ‘Gaston’ in the Disney animated film, Beauty and the Beast) and has had the pleasure and honor of singing professional, leading, operatic roles opposite such internationally acclaimed opera stars as tenor Richard Leech and soprano Deborah Voigt.
