James Conlon
On Monday, April 20, 2009, Maestro James Conlon, Music Director of Los Angeles Opera, Initiator and Director of the “Recovered Voices” series (a multi-year project that seeks to revive the music of composers silenced during the Holocaust) was the guest of honor and spoke at An Evening of Holocaust Remembrance.
As part of the evening’s event, Maestro Conlon received a Doctor of Arts, honoris causa, from Chapman University in recognition of his many contributions in the field of music. Conlon has played an extraordinary role in recovering the voices of composers silenced during the Nazi era and bringing their works to audiences around the world.
