David E. Wolfe, Ph.D., RMT

David E. Wolfe, Ph.D., RMT, has occupied many official positions for the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), Great Lakes Region, and Western Region during his four decades of service to the profession. He is currently Professor Emeritus and past Chair of the Department of Music Therapy and Coordinator of Graduate Studies at the Conservatory of Music, University of the Pacific, Dr. Wolfe has presented his research at numerous national and international venues, and his articles have appeared in such journals as the Journal of Music Therapy, Music Therapy Perspectives, Journal of Research in Music Education, and the Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education. His most recent contribution is a co-authored textbook titled, "Music Therapy in Pediatric Medicine: A Guide to Skill Development and Intervention." He has served as a past editor of the Journal of Music Therapy and currently serves on its editorial board as well as on the editorial board of Update (Music Educators National Conference publication). He has been the recipient of numerous awards some of which include the American Music Therapy Association Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Professional Contributions, the Betty Isern Howery Recognition Award, Western Region of AMTA, AMTA Publications Award, and more recently assumed the Endowed Chair in Music Education and Music Therapy, School of Music, University of Alabama, 2007-2008.
