Steven R. Nalepa, B.A.
Steven R. Nalepa earned his BA in Economics and Mathematics in 1994 from Yale University, New Haven, CT. He has a solid understanding of music technology, recording software, music notation, synthesis, MIDI, and production, performance and remix techniques, and is in demand as a software tutor and technology consultant. He serves as technical writer and instructional video producer for Thomson Publishing, Boston, MA, and was technical editor of Laptop Music Power, a comprehensive guide to using computers in live performance. He is a technical marketing specialist for M-Audio in Irwindale, California, where he trains technical support agents, customers, dealers and artists in Ableton Live, Reason and Pro Tools, and provides service and technical support for customers, dealers and sponsored artists. He has strong technical writing skills and has developed and maintained a strong working knowledge of the entire line of M-Audio products including their features, installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting. He has been an engineer, producer, keyboardist, sound designer and remixer in the Los Angeles area since January 2000, was a guest lecturer at Yale University in October 2005 for Computer Music Production and Performance, and was the co-founder, president, publisher, publicist for Dilettante Press, from August 1997 to January 2003. He has worked for Creative Space, Strange Universe, and has been a high school Math and Science Teacher in the Los Angeles area. At present, he is the multimedia event producer for Terpesichord Group; producer, laptop musician, and VJ for Organica and Performance Lecture in Los Angeles. |
