Jenny Kim is an instructor of French Horn at both Chapman University and Los Angeles’ Colburn School of the Performing Arts.  She is principal horn of the Fresno Philharmonic, a member of the New West Symphony, and as well performs frequently with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Opera, the Pasadena Symphony, the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the Santa Barbara Symphony.  As a recording artist, she has played on numerous motion pictures and scab dates, which almost count.

Jenny received her Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California, and her Bachelor of Music and Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music.  She has won first prize in several prominent competitions, including the International Horn Society’s Jon Hawkins Award, and has soloed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, playing Mozart’s Second Horn Concerto.  Her principal teachers were Brian Drake, Peter Kurau, Richard Todd and James Decker.

Jenny loves to do arts and crafts in her spare time.  And as a freelance musician, sometimes she has a lot of spare time.  But don’t ask her to knit you a sweater, the best she can do is knit a cell phone cozy.
