Mary DiCamillo, Ed.D., MT-BC is a board certified Music Therapist and has been teaching and working in the field for the last twenty years.  She has earned a Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy from The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a Masters Degree in Special Education from California State University Long Beach, and a Doctorate Degree in Higher Education from Pepperdine University. 

Mary’s specialties are Research Methods, Statistics and teaching clinical classes in Music Therapy.  Mary has also worked as an editor for theses and dissertations.  She has served many of the major populations in the field of Music Therapy including mental health, schools, and children with disabilities.   Her most recent clinical experience has been in General Hospital-Labor and Delivery Practice. 

Mary’s doctoral research in Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth laid the groundwork for the Sound Birthing program that is currently being taught to music therapists through four Continuing Education Programs across the United States.  In 1991, Mary was awarded the Western Region of the American Music Therapy Association Professional Practice Award for her contributions to the field in the area of Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth. 

Mary is also a professional accompanist and church musician.  In her free time, she enjoys directing children’s musical theater.  Mary and her husband John are the proud parents of three children: Marisa (12), Michael (9), and Connor (2).
