Steven Dunham '88

Steve Dunham graduated from Chapman University in 1988 with a degree in Vocal Performance. Since then, he has appeared throughout the Western United States as a soloist in both concert repertoire and opera.

Overseas, Mr. Dunham has performed with the Central Philharmonic Orchestra of Beijing, China in a nationally televised program of operatic excerpts, and with the Frankfurt Opera in Germany. Other operatic engagements include performances with the Santa Fe Opera, Long Beach Opera, Euterpe Opera Theatre, Pacific Repertory Opera, Los Angeles Concert Opera, Guild Opera of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Music Theatre Company, and the Santa Barbara Symphony.

As a concert artist, Mr. Dunham has performed a wide range of literature including performances with the Santa Barbara Choral Society, Chorale Bel Canto, the Riverside Master Chorale, the San Diego Symphony, the William Hall Master Chorale, the Saddleback Concert Chorale, the Antelope Valley Master Chorale, the Riverside Symphony Orchestra, and the Long Beach Bach Festival.

An active recording artist, he can be heard on the sound tracks of several motion pictures including Vampire In Brooklyn, Sixth Sense, Snow Falling On Cedars, Dinosaur, Behind Enemy Lines, The Scorpion King, The Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions, Van Helsing, Catwoman, King Kong, Wolverine, and Planet Earth.

Mr. Dunham has a passion for arts education and has been involved with Orange County Opera for 22 years, first as a singer and later as the Artistic Director. Orange County Opera provides introductory operatic experiences to elementary age children, and annually performs over 250 assemblies to Southern California students and teachers. Nearly 50% of these performances are provided at no cost to underprivileged schools in both Orange and Los Angeles Counties.

In addition to his musical career, Mr. Dunham is also the owner of a successful Internet business catering to the hospitality industry, and is an investor in multiple real estate income properties in the Dallas, Texas area.

Steve and his wife Ronda have been married for 28 years and have two sons. Christopher is married and a graduate student at California State Long Beach, and Eric is a student at Long Beach City College.
