California soprano Kathryn Carpenter is one of Europe's leading lyric sopranos. After winning First Prize in the prestigious Loren L. Zachary Vocal Competition in Los Angeles, she was awarded her first full-time contract with the Bremen State Opera Company in Germany. Over seven seasons there she sang numerous roles in German, French, Italian,, and Czech repertories for lyric soprano. She has also performed with the National Theater in Mannheim, the Opera Theater in Leipzig, the State Opera “Unter den Linden” in Berlin, as well as major stages in Austria and Switzerland. Ms. Carpenter holds a Masters Degree in Music from Indiana University, where she studied with the legendary dramatic soprano Eileen Farrell. |
