Jessica HardyBM Vocal Performance Jessica's musical training began at the age of four when she studied flute with Nancy Knop. Her first exposure to vocal and choral music came when she joined the Piedmont Boys and Girls Choir in third grade. Finding that she really enjoyed studying voice, she began her formal training with Frank Thomas. In 2004 as a junior she began studying with Eric Howe. Under his tutelage, she has been 1st place winner in the Art Song for the North American Teachers of Singing Contest, Winner of the Pacific Arts Society Scholarship, and has consistently received Superior Command Performance marks for her participation in the California Music Education Association. Jessica graduated from Piedmont High School where she was an active member of the Acapella choir as well as a participant and then financial director with the Troubadours. She also continued her involvement with the Piedmont Boys and Girls Choir in the Eccco choir. Jessica continued her vocal training in the fall of 2006 as a vocal performance major at Chapman University in Orange, California. She continues to thrive on learning more about her voice, vocal performance and all the supportive work concerning the history of music and the nuances of producing it for the enjoyment of many. |
