American Association of People with Disabilities
AAPD "works in coalition with other disability organizations for the full implementation and enforcement of disability nondiscrimination laws, particularly the Americans with Disabilities act of 1990 and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This sit can connect you to information on disability issues as well as connect you to other sites related.

AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP)
A diverse, non-partisan group of individuals united in anger and committed to direct action to end the AIDS crisis. On this page you can find all sorts of information about AIDS and how to get involved in current campaigns around prevention, cure, and treatment.

Spearhead Vibrations
The band Spearhead with lead singer Michael Franti show activism through music and give plenty of ways to get involved in the peace movement.

dropping knowledge
dropping knowledge encourages social change by linking the voices of individuals and organizations.  With online dialogue forums, social justice films, and a daily Q&A, dropping knowledge gets the world talking about issues that affect us all.

AFFIRMATIVE ACTION
By Any Means Necessary (BAMN) 
BAMN has a ton of up-to-date news about affirmative action. This is the Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, Integration & Immigrant Rights & Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary.
 
Leadership Conference on Civil Rights
While dealing with many issues in the spectrum of civil rights, a good portion of their website devoted to affirmative action. Some of it deals more with affirmative action in the workplaces, but most of it is related to education.
 
The Affirmative Action and Diversity Project
While having many different points of view on affirmative action, has a lot of useful information for pro-affirmative action activism. It is also good to view your opponent's position to have a more successful campaign later.

Los Angeles Indymedia
LA Indymedia is a non-commercial, non-corporate, anti-capitalist collective that supports local, regional and global struggles against exploitation and oppression through its current events coverage.  News topics range from animal rights to gender and sexuality to racism to art.

Axis of Justice
Axis of Justice is a non-profit organization that strives to bring together musicians, fans of music, and grassroots political organizations to fight for social justice.  The website is both an activism network and a news source.

NPR (National Public Radio)
NPR is a producer and distributor of noncommercial news, talk, and entertainment programming. A privately supported, not-for-profit membership organization, NPR and its member stations serve local listeners with a combination of national and local programming.

ANTI-SLAVERY
iAbolish !
The American Anti-Slavery Group (AASG) is America's leading human rights group dedicated to abolishing modern day slavery worldwide. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, the historic center of the American abolitionist movement, they work to extend the wave of emancipation to the millions of people trapped in bondage. Efforts center around building public awareness, leading advocacy campaigns, and empowering survivors and activists.

ANTI-WAR
Declaration of Peace
The Declaration of Peace is a grassroots nonviolent action campaign calling on the U.S. government to establish a comprehensive plan to end the U.S. war and occupation in Iraq. It is working to stop U.S. military escalation in Iraq, to defund the war, to bring the troops home safely, and to support a comprehensive Iraqi-led peace process.

Control Arms
The Control Arms campaign is calling for an international, legally-binding Arms Trade Treaty to ease the suffering caused by irresponsible weapons transfers.

International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA)
The International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA) is the global movement against gun violence - a network of 700 civil society organizations working in 100 countries to stop the proliferation and misuse of small arms and light weapons (SALW). IANSA seeks to make people safer from gun violence by securing stronger regulation on guns in society and better controls on arms exports.

ECONOMIC JUSTICE
Global Exchange
Global Exchange is an international human rights organization dedicated to promoting social, economic and environmental justice around the world. The organization works as a partner for peace and social justice to increase public awareness of root causes of injustice while building international partnerships and mobilizing for change.

Oxfam International
Oxfam International is a confederation of 13 organizations working together with over 3,000 partners in more than 100 countries to find lasting solutions to poverty, suffering and injustice.  Oxfam works with poor people, influences powerful people, and joins hands with all people to foster a sense of global citizenship.
 
ENVIRONMENTAL/ANIMAL JUSTICE
Critical Mass
A critical mass is a group bike ride that celebrates the environmental and health benefits of cycling while asserting cyclists’ rights to the road.  Critical mass rides are held worldwide and vary between locations, but they all have the same goal.

Greenpeace
On this site you can find connections to all the Greenpeace websites and support their campaigns whether it be stopping whaling, saying no to Genetic Engineering, or protecting ancient forests. You can also find up-to-date news about assorted environmental justice issues.

Grist
Grist is a new way of looking at environmental journalism.  The site believes that news about green issues and sustainable living doesn't have to be predictable, demoralizing, or dull: “We exist to tell the untold stories, spotlight trends before they become trendy, and engage the apathetic. We're fiercely independent in our coverage.”

Surfrider Foundation
The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education.  Local chapters take action through testing water samples, educating children about the ocean, and other campaigns.

GENDER AND SEXUALITY
Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN)
GLSEN is an organization for students and teachers working for safe-schools for all people regardless of sexual orientation. They have a lot of information on how to start a Gay/Straight Alliance for your school. GLSEN also has information on a number of different campaigns and laws related to queer friendly schools.

Gender Equity in Sports

Lots of basic information about Title IX as well as the history of it. It dispels many of the myths surrounding Title IX, but also goes into depth of the issue as well. They have lots of resources and laws and policies by state.

Gender Public Advocacy Coalition
The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition works to ensure that classrooms, communities, and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow, and succeed - whether or not they meet expectations for masculinity and femininity.

Human Rights Campaign
The Human Rights Campaign is America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
 
Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund
Lambda Legal has a lot of legal information concerning queer and transgender students. A great place for straight facts and laws.
 
League of Women Voters: Democracy Net
Here you will find easy connection to your US representatives in Congress as well as you can register to vote here and find your local people too. Very helpful site.
 
National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
The mission of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is to build the grassroots power of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.  The task force works to create a nation that respects the diversity of human expression and identity and creates opportunity for all.

National Organization for Women
Website for the National Organization for Women. Now is the largest organization of feminist activists in the US. This website provides information on how to take action around women's rights issues, what is going on in your area, and resources for other related issues. 

Public Education Regarding Sexual Orientation Nationally (P.E.R.S.O.N)
P.E.R.S.O.N. is an activist network that works for fair, accurate, and unbiased information on queer and trans people in public schools. They have an awesome organizing handbook on their website as well to links to a lot of great organizing resources.

United Nations WomenWatch
WomenWatch is the central gateway to information and resources on the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women throughout the United Nations system.

Stop Hate
“Stop the Hate!” Campus Hate Crime Prevention Program supports colleges and universities in preventing and combating hate on campus as well as fostering the development of community and serving as the premiere source of anti-hate educational resources for higher education.

Tolerance.org
Tolerance.org is a principal online destination for people interested in dismantling bigotry and creating, in hate's stead, communities that value diversity.  If you want to know how to transform yourself, your home, your school, your workplace or your community, Tolerance.org is a place to start — and continue — the journey.

American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)
The mission of the ACLU is to preserve freedom of speech, association and assembly; freedom of the press; freedom of religion supported by the strict separation of church and state; equal protection under the law; the right to due process; and the right to privacy.  The ACLU also works to extend rights to segments of our population that have traditionally been denied their rights.

Amnesty International
Amnesty International's mission is to undertake research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression, and freedom from discrimination, within the context of its work to promote all human rights.

Global Campaign for Education
The Global Campaign for Education promotes education as a basic human right, and mobilizes public pressure on governments and the international community to fulfill their promises to provide free, compulsory public basic education for all people; in particular for children, women and all disadvantaged, deprived sections of society.

Human Rights Watch
Human Rights Watch is an independent, nongovernmental organization, that stands with victims and activists to prevent discrimination, to uphold political freedom, to protect people from inhumane conduct in wartime, and to bring offenders to justice.

MADRE
An organization demanding human rights for women and families around the world. At this site you can find out about international advocacy work being done, how you can get involved with their group, and find out information about issues relating to human rights for women and families.


Save Darfur Coalition
The Save Darfur Coalition's mission is to  raise public awareness about the ongoing genocide in Darfur and to mobilize a unified response to the atrocities that threaten the lives of two million people in the Darfur region.  The Coalition’s member organizations represent 130 million people of all ages, races, religions and political affiliations united together to help the people of Darfur.

HUNGER & POVERTY
Food Not Bombs
Hundreds of autonomous chapters share free vegetarian food with hungry people and protest war and poverty throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. Food Not Bombs is organizing for an end to the occupations of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine. We also support actions against the globalization of the economy, restrictions to the movements of people and the destruction of the earth.

Heifer International
Helping families in poverty in underdeveloped countries to help people obtain a sustainable source of food and income. They give microcredit in the form of livestock promotes self-reliance, which builds self-esteem and helps families lift themselves out of poverty.

RACISM & ETHNICITY
American Indian Movement Grand Governing Council
This Website provides information about the history of AIM and how to get involved. They offer services from the site such as a speakers Bureau of people to speak on issues affecting American Indians today. There is also a link to information on Political Prisoner Leonard Peltier.

Black Radical Congress
This is the homepage of the Black Radical Congress. On this site you can find information about what they are doing as a group as well as what local groups are doing. You can also find national campaigns that they are working on and join in with discussion groups.

Challenging White Supremacy
All sorts of Anti-Racism resources as well as workshops going on and how you can get involved.

Colours of Resistance
"A grassroots network of people who consciously work to develop anti-racist, multiracial politics in the movement against global capitalism." At this site you can find events, organizing tools, FAQ, and articles and analysis.

EdChange
An organization working for diversity and equality in education. The Multicultural Pavilion section of the website in incredibly extensive including activities and articles as well as how to incorporate multiculturalism into atypical settings, such as in science classrooms. Another plus is that it has resources on (dis)ability in education.
 
National Association for Multicultural Education
An international organization for educators, administrators, activists, librarians, researchers, etc., etc. It has literally hundreds of resources on many different aspects of multicultural education. It is one of the leading educational organizations on issues of anti-racism/anti- oppression. A must for anyone serious about multicultural education.

NAACP

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People seeks to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

 

The People’s Institute

For Survival and Beyond

Dedicated to training and organizing with intelligence and integrity – with values and vision. The People’s Institute is a national and international collective of anti-racist, multicultural community organizers and educators dedicated to building an effective movement for social transformation.

Znet hosts a collection of essays around various issues of social justice/social change. This is the race watch page, which has a very diverse and well written archive of essays on everything from anti-racism, white privilege, instititional organizing, and youth work.
