WELCOME TO FRATERNITY RUSH 2008

Hello Everyone!

My name is Al Raitt and I am the Vice-President of the Interfraternity Council for Chapman University. I am so very excited that you have expressed interest in Fraternity Rush through visiting our website! You will find all of the information you need to know about the Rush process, including when Rush takes place, as well as, a list of the chapters that are represented at Chapman.

The Interfraternity Council is comprised of men who represent each of the six diverse chapters on Chapman University's campus. Together, our organization works as a governing body for all fraternity men. We constantly strive to provide an environment which facilitates open communication, mutual understanding, and ultimately, promotes unity within Greek Life.

Fraternitty Rush is the cornerstone to the growth of each fraternity on campus. The process of rushing is very relaxed. Each fraternity has the opportunity to show itself off during this week at the Rush tables that each chapter sets up on the AF Walkway. During the nights of Rush Week each fraternity will hold events every night to entertain and get to know each potential member. Events can range from a barbeque to a formal dinner or game night to inflatable boxing. This process allows for all those interested in fraternal life to get out and explore each chapter and find the right fraternity for them.

There are over 9 million Greek members nationally; 850,000 hours are volunteered by Greeks annually; every U.S. President and Vice President, except two in each office, born since the first social fraternity was founded in 1825 have been members of a fraternity. There are more men in American college fraternities now than at any other time in their existence, since Phi Beta Kappa was formed at the College of William and Mary in 1776. Nearly four and one half million are members including more then 350,000 collegians in campuses through Canada and the United States.

These are just a few reasons how going Greek could change your life. Affiliated members often describe Greek life at Chapman University as an experience you cannot really understand unless you are a part of it. We all share a unique bond, which is grounded in the ideals of leadership, philanthropy, scholarship, and friendship. It is true that Greeks do a lot of social events, but as the facts prove and I have experienced, the social network that could help you through your entire life is bigger than anything you could imagine!

Fraternity Information Tables - September 8-12, 2008

Fraternities will have tables out in the AF Walkway from 11am-1pm Monday through Thursday of that week.  Stop by and learn about our six fraternities and the events they will be having throughout the week!
