LL.M. in Taxation ProgramTaxation is Chapman’s oldest LL.M. program and continues our advance in the field of tax law. Our J.D. Tax Program is currently (2010) Ranked in the Top 25 (#17) in the United States by the U.S. News and World Report, which correlates to a Top 10* (#9) ranking of our Graduate Tax Program. There is a historical culture of tax law Chapman and we are committed to both our J.D. and LL.M. tax programs. We have six full time tax faculty including leaders in various Tax sections and committees of the American Bar Association, professors ranked in the Top 20 in tax scholarship as measured by the Social Science Research Network, and prolific scholars including casebook authors. We employ adjuncts whom are respected in their fields of expertise and bring a real-world dynamic to the academic experience. The 2010 edition if The Princeton Review Guide To 172 Best Law Schools lists Chapman as a Top 5 (#3) law school for “Quality of Life” (a measure of overall law school community experience) and we have been in the Top 5 every year since 2006. The Princeton Review has also ranked us among the Top 5 (#2) law schools for “Best Classroom Experience” each year since 2007 and as a Top 10 (#7) law school for “Professors Rock - Legally Speaking” (a measure of interesting and accessible faculty) since 2006. All of these accolades speak volumes about the supportive nature of our institution for both students and faculty. * Note: The U.S. News & World Report does not rank LL.M. Tax (or other specialty) programs, rather, they maintain J.D. Specialty Rankings in nine areas of legal education. Professor Paul L. Caron (University of Cincinnati College of Law) maintains a separate ranking of Graduate Tax Programs based on the annual U.S. News survey.
