Chapman Law Review Approaches Top 20% of Nation’s Best General Content Law Journals!

According to the Washington & Lee 2006 law journal rankings released in late November, Chapman Law Review has climbed to number 59 out of 262 general content law journals, up from 61 last year. Out of 1344 total law journals, Chapman Law Review ranks 93, up from 96. Bested journals include Loyola Law Review (63rd among general law journals), San Diego Law Review (71), Rutgers Law Journal (79), and Pepperdine Law Review (90). These high rankings are awesome numbers for such a young law journal and we are very proud of this great accomplishment. The rankings reflect the quality of the content, authorship, and editing of our entire catalog. Most notably, this accomplishment bespeaks the excellence of the annual Law Review Symposium, whose subject matter and speaker-authors produce the content of the volume's Spring Symposium issue.

The continued climb is attributable to the strong leadership of Editor-in-Chief, Tim Kowal, the tireless efforts of current and past staff members, the excellent law review administrative staff and Chapman’s exceptional faculty (especially current and former law review advisors Donald Kochan, John Eastman, and Denis Binder) who have not only provided amazing guidance but have also brought some of the nation's top scholars to contribute to our symposia and issues.
