Michael R.W. Houston is a partner at Rutan & Tucker LLP, one of the largest law firms in Orange County, California. Named a “Rising Star” among lawyers in Southern California by Law & Politics Magazine, Professor Houston received his juris doctorate from the Vanderbilt University School of Law, and presently serves as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of LaQuinta, California. He also serves as a special counsel to the City of Marina for CEQA and water supply matters, and serves as special counsel to a number of cities on election law matters. Mr. Houston has a sophisticated transactional, regulatory and litigation practice that is focused on helping land owners and public agencies develop property in California’s complex regulatory environment. His practice focuses on government agency/public law, land use, natural resource and election law issues. He teaches local government law.
