Sean K. Higgins is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps, LLP, where he has experience in complex trust, estate and conservatorship litigation, trust and estate administration and estate planning. He teaches Wills and Trusts as an adjunct law professor at Chapman Law School in Orange, California, and has also taught estate taxation as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University's Masters in Taxation Program. Mr. Higgins was named a 2007 "Rising Star" in Southern California Super Lawyers magazine. He earned his B.S. degree in Finance from California State University, Long Beach in 1991 and his J.D. degree from Loyola Law School, cum laude, in 1997. Articles include "Closing the Estate without a Hitch" - NBI Estate Administration Procedures: Why Each Step is Important, June 2007, "Statutes of Limitations for Malpractice Claims in Estate Planning" - Trusts & Estates Magazine - 31 Estate Planning 259, June 2004 and "Conservatorship Litigation and Lawyer Liability: A Guide Through the Maze" - Stetson Law Review's Wingspan Guardianship Symposium, Fall 2001. Mr. Higgins is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Long Beach Bar Association. |
