Prospective Students

A Message from the Director

It is my pleasure to invite you to consider Chapman University’s Honors Program, which offers a unique learning experience for intellectually curious and capable students. Entrance into the program requires a separate application, which is online.

Structured as an academic minor, the University Honors Program combines an interdisciplinary curriculum with small discussion-centered classes.

The curriculum consists of Core Courses, spanning the subjects of the Natural Sciences, Humanities and the Social Sciences, in a comprehensive, in-depth mode of learning woven with a degree of self-reflection. These courses fulfill the University’s inter/multidisciplinary general education requirement.  The program culminates with a capstone senior seminar.

In the Honors Program you will find a supportive, highly active community of fellow students and Honors professors who will challenge you personally, broaden your education and lend a special dimension to your ongoing quest for knowledge.

The Honors students have helped to design a dynamic and fluid program that is filled with many intellectual, leadership and social opportunities. Events to look forward to include mountain retreats, presenting at national and regional conferences, and social activities such as attending plays, dining out and camping.

Space in the program is limited and best serves students who approach their education in a mature and responsible manner.

Should you have any questions, contact us at (714) 744-7646 or e-mail us at honors@chapman.edu.

Cordially,

Patricia W. See, Ph.D.
