National Collegiate Honors Council Conference Chicago, Illinois Nov 6-9, 2003
Eighteen students in the University Honors Program were selected to present their research and projects at the National Collegiate Honors Council’s annual conference in Chicago. The conference was attended by more than 1,700 students and educators from across the U.S.
Presentations and presenters:
- Toilet Seats and Table Tops: The Dirty Truth: Ian Reitz, Bethany Crouch, Erica Yamashiro, Tara Guillozet.
- Mosh Pit Math: Nate Tarvin, Leslie McShane.
- Degenerate Art and Music: Artistic Supression in Nazi Germany: Charla Camastro-Lee.
- Professors are People: Charla and Ashley Carlson, a Chapman graduate.
- What Are You Reading: An Investigation Into the Newspaper Monopoly: Zoey Smith.
- Dead Honors Society: Death Through Our Eyes: Hope Gray, Britney Zemlick, Natalie Reider.
- Organized Chaos: Inside the Honors Classroom: Aaron Humphrey, Paul Traska, Thuy Pham and Tiffany Lang.
Artistic achievements were also recognized at Master Class performances: Charla played flute, Britney sang and Natalie read several of her poems. And at a Food Survival Workshop, Nate prepared his recipe, “Pan-Fried Ramen,” and Leslie presented information about being a vegan in “The Vegan Monologues.”
