GABBO
The Honors Program journal
*Student created, student fed, student produced *

What is Gabbo?  It's something of a cross between a communal diary, a literary journal and a small, but vocal, gnu.  More or less, it's the semi-annual Honors Graffiti Wall.

This venture began in early 2003, borne from an impromptu reading group which was borne out of a particularly vibrant In Search of Relationships Class.  Paul Traska ('05)  took on the humble and vigilant post of Publisher and Aaron Humphrey ('05) became the roadthirsty Editor, positions they kept for 2 1/2 years until they graduated.  During this time four issues were published.  The current (2005-06) leadership of the publication lies in the far-more-capable hands of Jenny Wiegert and Janine Miller.
However, the true Heroes of Gabbo have always been the courageous Honors students, both shy and exuberant, who choose to contribute everything from short stories, recipes, drawings, found art, poems, postcards, diary entries and honest-to-goodness academic papers

to a few drink coasters from a favorite bar in New Orleans.

The official Gabbo website contains archives of the past issues if you'd care to check them out.

If you'd like to submit something for the next issue, please don't hesitate!  You can be as involved or uninvolved as you like; as anonymous or as public as you like.  You can drop off a submission to the Honors office in Roosevelt 200; it can be given in person to the GABBO staff; or it can be emailed to gabbostaff@yahoo.com
