Honors Program Mentor Dessert Bar Bash
2 to 4 p.m.; Beckman 404
An informal meeting with a dessert bar,  for freshmen who have been admitted into the University Honors Program --  to meet their mentors and other returning Honors students. Events throughout the year and Honors conferences will be discussed. Orientation will cover  the nuts-and-bolts of the program, with the opportunity for questions and answers. An excellent way to find out how to become involved with Honors in the upcoming school year.

Orange International Street Fair
Grab a friend and head to the Orange circle to enjoy the sights,sounds  and food at the Orange International Street Fair, featuring booths representing many countries. Starts at 5 p.m. Friday; opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Closes each day at 10 p.m.

Honors on-campus overnight retreat
Lots of fun in store at the Honors  retreat/sleepover.  The action will begin about 5 p.m. Saturday and wind up after breakfast on Sunday morning.  Look for a return of the infamous Honors Talent Show -- not to be missed.  More details to come.

Honors Program coffee -- Family/Alumni weekend
Calling all alumni and current students.  Bring your family members and stop by for Coffee and Conversation at the Honors Program Coffee.  The Honors director and faculty look forward to greeting alumni, meeting you and your family members, renewing acquaintances and sharing memories.  AF 205.



Heifer Bake Sale
Stay tuned for details. We raise money to help Heifer International, an organization that tries to ameliorate world hunger by giving livestock to families in need.  Our past efforts have raised enough money to purchase a water buffalo, a Heifer cow and some chickens.  We will need everyone's help:  you can bake, help with publicity and/or help sell the goodies at our table during the week. Contact the Honors office for more details.

National Collegiate Honors Council Conference -- Washington D.C.
Seven students will present their research at this annual conference attended by Honors programs throughout the United States and abroad.
