Student Success
Chapman University students recently won two competitions-the Western College Bowl competition and the SCIFTS Product Development competition. Both teams are finalists in the national IFT meeting this July in Chicago.
IFT Food Product Development: Chapman students, Christine Campbell and Emily Doti are finalists in the 2007 national IFT Product Development Competition for their product Pizza Puzzle. They are among an elite group of Universities-Washington State, Michigan State, U. Minnesota, Iowa State, and U. Wisconsin (all of which have Ph.D. programs) from a total of 20 Universities to be selected as finalists. The national competition will be held in Chicago during the IFT meeting July 28-Aug 1, 2007.
Congratulations to the Chapman team (Danae Lucas, captain, Chelsea Fagundes, Paolo Beltran, Emily Doti, Amanda Teets) and advisor Dr. Lilian Were for winning the Western Regional College Bowl Competition in Provo, UT this Saturday. Chapman beat out teams from UC Davis, Brigham Young University, University of Idaho, Utah State, Oregon State University, and Cal Poly Pomona to advance to the national IFT College Bowl competition in Chicago this summer. This is testimony to our excellent students, their hard work, and the high caliber of the food science program.
