Overview: Using Online Work Request System

To send an online work request to Facilities Management click on the Submit Work Request link. Upon clicking on the link, a login box will appear.  You will login using your entire Chapman email address (eg. jsmith@chapman.edu) with the same password you use to login to the network, or to retrieve your email. Delete all text that may appear in the username login box; there should be no difficulty in logging on if all that appears in the username box is yourusername@chapman.edu. After successfully logging on to the system a welcome page will appear describing the system in brief.

To submit a work request click the Submit a Request link located in the left-hand menu column under the heading Work Request. A window will appear asking you to select your Facility. Chapman University will be displayed directly below the phrase "Please select your Facility"; click on the box located directly to the right of the Chapman University text to move you to the "Select Your Building" window.

Select the building you are submitting this work request for by clicking the down arrow located to the right of the box. You will make your selection by moving the cursor down the building list until you have highlighted the desired building name. To continue to the Request Form window click on the box located directly to the right of your building selection.

The Request Form window should display the building you selected in the heading, e.g. Request Form for Beckman Hall. You will now begin typing in the requested information; your first and last name, your phone number, your email address, and area (highlight your selection as you did when selecting your building). The area selected should identify the location where you are requesting that maintenance work occur.  DO NOT select a generic area like 1st floor until you have first reviewed the entire area drop down list for the room number in which the requested work should be performed.  If after reviewing the entire drop down list you are unable to find the room number, then you may select the appropriate floor level for the room that you are submitting work to be done.  In the request box, type your maintenance request; be sure to include the room number within your work request description if you selected a generic area. Write your maintenance work request so that it will include relevant and specific details. Click on the Submit button after you have provided all requested information. A new window will display notifying you of your Request Number and displaying the work request you just submitted.

Work requests are reviewed by Facilities Management. A submitted work request will be accepted and converted into a work order or will be denied. When a work request is accepted or denied an email is automatically sent to the requestor to notify of the action taken on their work request.
