Getting Involved

Associated Students

Associated Students (A.S) is Chapman University's student government.  Every student pays an A.S. fee that entitles them to membership into this body.  Associated Students involves students in a myriad of options, ranging from comedians to musical groups to speakers that enlighten the mind.

First and foremost, A.S. is an advocate for the student body.  Student issues may be raised and addressed through the House of Representatives or the Senate.  A.S. gives you, the student, a venue for these issues to be resolved.  The Associated Students Cabinet works to put on events that will stimulate and entertain the Chapman community.

There are many ways to become involved in Chapman's student government and make a positive difference in the campus and in the community:

  • Senate - run for one of the open seats during Fall elections in September
  • House of Representatives - represent your club in this legislative body
  • Campus Peer Conduct Board - join this student hearing board for issues of student misconduct and interpret the A.S. Constitution
  • AS Committees - look at the AS website for more information
  • Cabinet - positions are available by application at the end of the Spring semester
  • President or Vice President - start thinking about possible running for the executive council later on in your college career

Regardless of how you want to get involved, there are numerous ways for you to do so and get involved at whatever level is comfortable to you.

For more information on Associated Students, visit our website at www.chapman.edu/as, call us at (714) 997-6858, or stop by and see us in Argyros Forum 303.  We are here to serve you and we look forward to hearing your opinions and working to help you.
