State Aid
State Grants The state of California offers Cal Grants to qualifying undergraduate students who are residents of California, based on financial need and GPA. You must have your GPA Verification form sent to the California Student Aid Commision (CSAC) by March 2 each year. If you have completed at least 24 college units with Chapman (including transfer units accepted by Chapman) prior to March 2, we will send this information automatically to CSAC for you every year you are attending Chapman.
State grants require that you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the March 2 priority deadline each year. For more information on state grants, visit CSAC's website. You can review your Cal Grant Award status by visiting WebGrants for Students. First time visitors will need to create a user name and password to log in.
APLE (Assumption Program of Loans for Education) If you're planning on a career in teaching, this program can provide you with up to $11,000 in loan repayment benefits over the course of four years. In exchange for teaching in either a low-income school or a teacher subject shortage area, the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC) will repay a certain portion of your student loans.
