Orange Campus Graduate Students

Graduate students (not including teaching credential only students, who for federal aid purposes are considered 5th-year undergraduates) who attend the Orange campus are eligible for loans.  The maximum Stafford loans a graduate student may borrow is $20,500 per year under the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP).  Some students, however, will not be eligible for the full $20,500 depending on their enrollment status -- whether or not they are full time, three-quarter time, half time, or less-than-half time.

Graduate students with good credit ratings may be eligible to borrow funds from the Graduate PLUS Loan program to meet their educational costs.  The amount typically offered is the same as for the non-federal alternative loan program.  The interest rate is 8.5 percent.

Alternative loans, which are not part of the Federal loan programs, are sometimes an option for graduate students.  To see how much of an alternative loan you would be eligible for, contact us.  View a listing of recommended alternative loan lenders and/or apply for an alternative loan online.
